Spring weather may be chilly, let these cocktails warm you up!

Text Block 1

As spring begins to (slowly) bloom across Pittsburgh, there's nothing quite like a refreshing drink to help you enjoy the warmer weather. And if you're looking for a new drink to try, the Galley- Bakery Square spring drink menu has something for everyone. From classic cocktails with a twist to unique concoctions you won't find anywhere else, here are some of the standout options on the menu.

One standout option on the menu is the Blackberry Sage Margarita. It's safe and comfortable but has some different flavors, so it's reinvented and interesting! Made with tequila, triple sec, lime, blackberry simple syrup, and muddled sage, this cocktail really does strike the perfect balance between sweet and savory. The house-made blackberry simple syrup adds a yummy, rich, and fruity flavor that is complemented by the earthy notes of the sage.
Another tempting option is the Colada Mojito, a tropical twist on the classic mojito. We may be a little biased because mojitos are our absolute favorite, but we think this one is one of the top five cocktails they've ever done! This cocktail is a perfect choice for anyone looking for a refreshing and fruity drink, featuring coconut rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, muddled mint, and lime seltzer.
If you're looking for something a little more sophisticated, the Rhubarb Gimlet might be just the ticket. A gimlet is a cocktail that always intrigued us, but we were always too scared to order. This cocktail combines gin, rhubarb liqueur, elderflower liqueur, and lime, resulting in a perfectly balanced drink that is both tart and sweet. If you're interested in trying a gimlet, this is a great place to start.

We know there are some people out there that love a good mule. For them, we say try the Strawberry Basil Mule. It's a must-try. Carefully made with Strawberry infused vodka, muddled basil, lime, and ginger beer, this cocktail is a delicious and aromatic twist on the classic Moscow Mule.

Our favorite drink on the menu has to be their Spicy Peach Mezcalita. If you're in the mood for something with a bit of a kick, this might be just the thing you want. With jalapeño infused tequila, mezcal, peach liqueur, agave, and lime juice, this sweet and spicy cocktail packs a flavorful punch. People always ask us what mezcal is; mezcal is a type of distilled spirit made from the agave plant, similar to tequila. However, while tequila is made only from blue agave and is produced in specific regions of Mexico, mezcal can be made from a variety of agave species and can be produced anywhere in Mexico. It has a smokey, strong flavor that you can't mistake. 10/10

Finally, the Springtime Toddy is a cozy and comforting cocktail that is perfect for those gray Pittsburgh spring days. Made with honey-infused whiskey, smoked tea liqueur, and falernum, this cocktail is the perfect blend of sweet and smoky flavors. What's falernum, you might be asking? (Because we did, and seriously, what is that?) Falernum is a sweet and spicy syrup or liqueur used as a flavoring in cocktails. It originated in the Caribbean and is typically made with rum, sugar, lime, and spices such as cloves, ginger, and almonds.

Galley Bakery Square's new Spring Cocktail Menu offers a wide range of creative and delicious cocktails that are perfect for celebrating the (albeit chilly) season. Whether you prefer sweet or savory flavors, fruity or smoky drinks, there is sure to be something on this menu that will suit your tastes. So why not head on down to Galley Bakery Square and give these tasty cocktails a try?
